Artist’s statement

The earliest time I remember drawing something because I was passionate about something was probably around 4th grade when I was online without supervision and found anime and video games. I would copy art from media over and over again for no other reason besides it was just what I liked to do. It’s a little silly, but I thank it for teaching me repetition to hone in on my skills. Besides that, it grew my fascination with digital art. I grew up watching twitch streamers draw or YouTube animations, which reinforced the idea that anyone can create something great. Now, my greatest passion would be creating digital artworks that I think are also “really cool.”

When I want to gather the energy required to create something, I typically listen to music, play video games, or look at other online artists. I’m inspired a lot by Grimes, Tatsuki Fujimoto, and Terrence Cantal. Fujimoto and Cantal are, in my eyes, the greatest artists to ever exist.

I try to utilize my digital resources as much as I can because the video game and animation industry claim Photoshop as the industry standard. I also need to learn as much as possible so I don’t feel like I’m falling too far behind artists that go to big name schools in the art field.
